emacs24-dbg software package provides Debugging symbols for emacs24, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install emacs24-dbg
emacs24-dbg is installed in your system.
Make ensure the emacs24-dbg package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep emacs24-dbg *
You will get with emacs24-dbg package name, version, architecture and description in a table
